Facebook reacts to comments

A little over a year ago, the Facebook* social network made it possible to express one’s attitude to posts not only with likes, but also with other emotions. Users liked this feature and began to enjoy using it.

Now this innovation has also affected the comments. We are offered a familiar set of emoticons to express pleasure, surprise, sadness and other emotions from reading a comment.
To use the new feature, simply hover your mouse over the “Like” link below the comment. A pop-up window will appear where you can select the appropriate emoticon.

Despite the seeming insignificance of this innovation, it can play a big role in the way we communicate in a social network. Now you won’t need to write a lengthy response to a comment that has outraged you: just mark it with an angry emoticon, and your attitude towards it will become clear to everyone. Excellent saving of time, effort and nerves.

Reactions for comments have already appeared in the desktop and mobile versions of the site. There is no word yet on when this feature will roll out to the Facebook* mobile app.

Facebook launches additional “Reactions” as an extended Like button

The earlier rumors were confirmed. Facebook has extended the functionality of the Like button by adding Reactions. At the same time, new options for marking the record become available to users. After all, not in all cases the “Like” mark is appropriate, for example, in the case of describing tragic events.

In “Reactions”, users are offered five additional options in addition to the standard “Like” mark. Additional icons allow you to express admiration (“Super”), laughter (“Ha-Ha”), surprise (“Wow!”), sadness (“I’m sorry”) and anger (“Outrageous”). To select one of the new reactions, in the mobile application you need to hold down the Like button and select the corresponding icon with a gesture. In the browser version of Facebook, just hover your mouse over the button, after which a pop-up window with additional actions will appear. If you just click on the button, the standard “Like” mark will be set.
